The city is a splendid blend of classic and modern living, and has a lively diversity of influences that provide some great eating experiences. Tel Aviv can get very crowded in the summer, so a good time to visit is during the spring or autumn season. The weather is still good, the beaches are quiet and the roads are less congested. The city is a first-rate place to stay for a few days of shopping, night clubbing and sunbathing, but there is so much to explore outside the metropolitan area.

If you like flea markets, Jaffa has a great one between Yefet Street and Jerusalem Boulevard. The market is open from Sundays to Fridays, and it is a great place to buy jewellery and antiques.
